  Dan C. made a motion to approve the January 18 Board Meeting Minutes and the Minutes for the November 11, 2014 Annual Meeting. Dan H. seconded the motion. The motion carried.

We are currently in the midst of renewals.  According to our Bylaws these members won’t be dropped off until March 31, 2015.

Out of 65 renewals due, we have received 34 renewals.  I currently have 31 members that have not renewed.  We are not done.  (I am never done!)  Also we have gone from a two-year membership to a one-year membership, so the number of renewals has gone up, with members renewing for one year at a time.

I have received some e-mails, people moving etc. not renewing.  Some have moved family into single membership.

We currently have 6 members that don’t have e-mail.

Need for Hostatality Chairs, Community Projects, and Newsletter Chairs

  We need to solicit members to fill these positions via The Scoop (newsletter) and website.

  Membership Benefits should be reviewed by Jack B. at the Annual Meeting.

  The Greeter volunteer position is open

  Cory T. set up a new Facebook page, Today’s SEWHS. Please consult this page for updates. Also feel free to submit relevant content for posting to the group’s Facebook page.

  Cory T. explained that SEWHS needs to renew it’s 501(c)3 status annually. The fee is $40 this year. Dan H. made a motion to approve the expenditure for the renewal. Joy C. seconded the motion. The motion carried. Cory T. will contact Peggy O. via email to obtain the check for to send into the IRS.

  We discussed possible locations for the event, and how to structure the plant sale and auction this year. Joy C. will work with Jack B. to reach out to members to donate plants for the auction.
  

• 
  Jack B. made a motion to approve the expenditure to contribute ½ ($15) each toward the purchase of five AHS Memberships for interested SEWHS members who have not previously participated in membership in the AHS.
  
• 
  The motion did not pass.
  

• 
  Peggy O. will forward to Cory T. a tracker for 501(c)3 reimbursements for tax reporting purposes. This is currently still pending.

  Dan C. made a motion to approve the Annual Plant Sale for May 2, 2105. Dan H. seconded the motion. The motion carried. Lists will be procured from Naylor Creek.

  Reid Van Sluys has graciously agreed to be our Newsletter Editor. Look for exciting changes in the newsletter, and more hosta content!

  We are considering reviving a Hosta Hysteria newsletter on the cultivation of hostas, and other relevant topics.

  The Scoop Newsletter will also be included on the website! As a group, we need to encourage traffic to our website.
  

• 
  Mailings should be consolidated for purposes of efficacy.

  The next meeting of SEWHS Executive Board will be May 2, 2015, at Boerner Botanical Gardens. See you there!
