Project Update: November 2014 Information on the investigated endangered species with photos was placed on the website of Kurilsky nature reserve: http://kurilskiy.ru/?territory,kurilskiy (in Russian and English, you can switch between languages on the top left corner of the webpage).
Our paper on findings of six species of aquatic plants that are new for the Kunashir Island is accepted for publication in the scientific journal Bulletin of Moscow Society for Nature Protection (will be published in the middle of 2015). These species include Myriophyllum sibiricum Kom., new for the Kurilsky nature reserve, Lemna japonicaLandolt and Utricularia macrorhizaLe Conte, new for the Kuril islands, Sparganium emersum Rehm. and Sparganium engleranum Asch. et Graebn. and listed in the Red Book of Sakhalin region as vulnerable species Isoёtes asiatica (Makino) Makino.
The final report with detailed information on these species and on the investigated endangered species will be provided in the Rufford Foundation by the end of December 2014.
