Faecal DNA amplification in Pacific walruses (Odobenus rosmarus divergens)

Online Resource 1. Agarose gel of PCR products for 12 potential prey species of Pacific walruses, showing two DNA extractions per species, using 16S1F/16S2R primers from Deagle et al. (2005b). The sample labels correspond with the sample numbers listed in Table 1, and a 100 base pair ladder is in the first lane of each row. All potential prey species tested successfully amplified. These include representatives from: Phylum Mollusca, Classes Bivalvia and Gastropoda, Phylum Annelida, Class Polychaeta, Phylum Echinodermata, Classes Ophiuroidea and Holothuroidea, and Class Arthropoda, Subphylum Crustacea, Class Malacostraca.
