After three years of planning a new Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition at Hereford Cathedral re-opened in April after an extensive re-design and re-fit. Working in co-operation with cathedral staff a team from Haley Sharpe Design of Leicester has spent the last three weeks removing the old exhibition and installing the new one.
The new exhibition is being very well received by visitors, and people are appreciating being able to get so much closer to the Mappa, and seeing it so much better lit than before. One feature of the new arrangements is the launching of an annual season ticket – particularly useful for those who want to bring visitors to see it and who previously had to pay for themselves each time; also for those who often use the cafe and who will now be able to wander in if they feel like it.
Entrance charges for the new exhibition will be:
Family (2 adults and up to 3 children) £14
Small Family (1 adult and up to 3 children) £10
Annual Season Ticket £15
The exhibition is open daily (Monday – Saturday) 10 am – 5 pm, along with the Cathedral Shop and Cloister Cafe
