Have you ever seen gorilla? The Mountain Gorilla can weigh as much as 230 kg. Its black and eats leaves and little tree bark. They’re found in the Virunga volcanoes in Rwanda, Uganda, and Zaire and at Mt Kahuzi in Zaire. Its natural habitat is dense forests at heights of between 3600-4000 meters high. And it’s Latin name is gorilla gorilla beringe. Its family group is pongidae the apes.
Until recently, gorillas were captured for scientific research and also for zoos. Several were injured while being caught and many dies later in captivity. We shouldn’t be killing them because they are not doing anything to us. So we have no reason to be killing them.
Gorillas cant live were they are disturbed. They need a reasonable large area of forest where they can travel about peacefully. Although parts of the gorillas range have been made into national parks, it is not always possible to look after them properly throughout these parks. In Zaire, the number of mountain gorillas remains steady, but in Rwanda and Uganda it is decreasing because protections are not complete.
