|INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISABLING THE PHILIPS DPM DOWNLOAD/CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE
If you have already installed the Philips DPM Download/Configuration software from the Philips website (or from the CD that came with your Philips recorder), before you can install the Emdat InSync Runtime Component Software, you must first disable the Philips DPM Download/Configuration program running on your computer. To do this you must close the DPM Download/Configuration software by right clicking on the DPM Download/Configuration icon in the System Tray. The DPM icon is a recorder icon located in the lower right hand corner of the screen next to the clock on the Windows task bar. After right clicking on the DPM Download/Configuration icon, select “Close DPM Download/Configuration”.
The following steps are necessary for all versions of Windows excluding Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.
Next you will need to prevent the DPM Download/Configuration software from loading every time Windows starts. To do this click on the Start button (lower left hand corner on Windows taskbar), select Run and type in msconfig. After the System Configuration Utility window opens, click on the Startup tab and uncheck the DPMapp entry (shown highlighted below). Next click on Apply and then click on Close to close the System Configuration Utility.
Finally select Restart in the System Configuration dialog that appears next (shown below) to allow the new changes to take affect.
After the computer restarts, the System Configuration Utility dialog opens (shown below). The checkbox must be checked next to “Don’t show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts”. Next select OK and the Emdat InSync Runtime Component Software can now be installed from http://www.emdat.com/software/philips.
