Research Appointments:

1998-99 Division of Vascular Surgery, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA.

Worked in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Belkin where research was done to determine vein graft adaptation and patency using duplex ultrasonography as a surrogate to calculate infrainguinal vein graft compliance. This research was funded by the Lifeline Foundation and resulted in an M.D. Thesis

July 2003-June 2005 Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.

Worked in the laboratory of Dr. Peter J. Gruber where research was done on developing an in-vivo model for ischemia-reperfusion injury in the murine heart and used this to analyze myocardial injury in different genetic strains as well as in strains undergoing epigenetic modulation.
