The GU8 Global Masters in Logistics program offers classroom lectures, industry seminars, cross-cultural and industry based case analysis with four worldwide partners: Australia, France, Korea and United Kingdom. Duration: the syllabus will last one year, starting in September 2009 (agenda: see below. The master program also available in GU8 URI website (http://www.uri.edu/gu8/) .
At each partner university, only five students will be selected to participate in this unique educational opportunity to get the knowledge, strategy, tools and network of contacts necessary to improve efficiency, reduce cost and manage risk in today's global markets, accordingly to GU8 object.
GU8 Global Masters in Logisticscost-effectively involves Elective Courses and Industry seminars by establishing training hubs accordingly to geographical proximity.
The Asia Pacific Training Hub will involve both Korean and Australian partners (INHA and RMIT). These training hubs allow participants to achieve cost savings by reducing transportation costs, CO2 emissions and shortening cycle times.
Students as a group will attend first the core modules at the parent university and this will be followed by attending the 3 electives and the two Industry Based Case studies at each Training Hub. The 2009 – 2010 European Training Hub will be Le Havre University (ISEL). The Asia Pacific Training Hub will be INHA University.
Students will be selected from:
existing MSc intake at each university;
executives with substantial work experience and working in leading companies. Successful candidates should have received a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional qualification. Post-graduate work experience in the logistics industry or related field is desirable
in case a partner does not match the number of 5 students, the remaining places are to be redistributed among the others
successful students, once achieved al the modules/courses, will receive Masters Degree from their own university along with an additional document signed by the Deans/Presidents of the four universities confirming that the students have successfully followed GMLOG.
Tuition fees: students will pay their tuition fee to their own university (see below)
Travel: students will pay their own travel fares but parent universities will attempt to assist in putting own students in contact with local agencies for possible grant
Accommodation and subsistence: students will pay their own accommodation and subsistence but Host University will assist in making the arrangements for them to be accommodated
