Report Highlights:

With few exceptions, all products imported into Poland are EU harmonized. This means that they must meet all EU import and certification requirements. The exceptions are: beef tripe; honey; and certain species of live animals. As of January 1, 2006, however, beef tripe will become a harmonized product and EU regulations will replace current Polish requirements.

  1. As of January 1, 2006 beef tripe will be an EU harmonized product.

  1. See the following web site for additional information: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/regulations_&_policies/Poland_Requirements/index.asp

  1. Due to a lack of imports, there currently is no Polish export certificate available for U.S. honey. Once a request is received, the General Veterinary Inspectorate will prepare a certificate. The certificate will be similar to that for imports of honey from other countries. A copy of the certificate for honey from Argentina is included in this report.

  1. The following are EU harmonized animals: Ungulates, birds, aquacultures, monkeys (Simiae i Prosimiae), bees (Apis mellifera), bumble-bees, hares, minks, foxes, dogs, cats, ferrets. All other animals are NOT EU harmonized and therefore require an import permit from the General Veterinary Inspectorate. No such permits currently exist, but will be created upon request.
