MEN’S CLUB LOCAL RULES
1. If a ball is lost out of bounds, the player shall play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as

nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played. A ball coming to

rest outside the white stakes on the course or curb on the perimeter of the island is

considered to be out of bounds.
2. Preferred lies apply to all events sponsored by the Men’s Club. This rule permits a ball

lying on your fairway to be lifted and cleaned, without penalty and placed within 6 inches

of where it originally lay, no nearer the hole. A ball may not be moved when lying in the

rough or adjacent fairway.
3. A ball may be moved within 2 (two) Club lengths from all restrooms, sprinkler boxes, no

closer to the hole. No penalty.
4. The ditches are played as "immovable obstructions". The concrete part of the ditches are the

obstructions. If your ball rests on the concrete or the concrete interferes with your stance or

the area of the intended swing, you may take two club lengths relief, on either side of the

ditch, no closer to the hole.

5. If a ball enters a drainage ditch and is moved by the current of water, it must be returned

as close as possible to the spot it entered the ditch. The ball then may be dropped on

either side of the ditch, no nearer the hole, within 2 club lengths of the ditch. No penalty.
6. Play of a ball that is within a club length or outside the chain fence on holes #s 3, 4, 5 or 6

may be dropped within 2 club lengths of the fence no nearer the hole. No penalty.
7. Any dispute or question on rules should be brought to the Tournament Chairman following

the round of play. In case of a dispute you may play two balls and the Tournament

Chairman will determine which one of the 2 (two) scores will apply to the tournament.

Further disputes will be brought before the Men’s Club Board in writing and the Board will

make clarification of the rule(s) involved.
8. Stones in bunkers shall be considered movable obstructions (Rule 24-1).
9. Play of 18th hole. Any ball crossing into or through the cart parking area must be dropped

within 2 club lengths from the edge of the concrete by the green as near as possible to the

line of flight it entered from previous shot taking a one-stroke penalty.
