BRIDLINGTON TOWN COUNCIL

Minutes of the Planning & Environmental Committee

held on 25th February 2008 at the

Community Resource Centre,

4-6 Victoria Road,

Bridlington

Present: Councillors P Austin, C Marsburg, R Owen, A Padwick, L Taylor and W Taylor.

The Clerk attended in an advisory capacity and Mrs King recorded the minutes.


1. Apologies for absence:
There were no apologies.
2. Declarations of prejudicial or personal interest in items on the agenda:
Cllr L Taylor declared a personal interest in item DC/08/00581 and took no part in the debate or vote on this planning application.

5. Correspondence:
29th January Mark Jessop – Local Transport Projects - Bridlington Town Centre Proposed 20 mph Zone

Casualty information and background paper from Michael Charlesworth.



RESOLVED: To write to the ERYC to inform them the Council considers there was insufficient consultation time for this matter and wish to ensure that this be recorded and noted for future local transport project consultation. The Council recommends that the speed limit be reduced to 20mph within the proposed zone only and that there should be no additional speed reduction infrastructure constructed.
11th February David Hewson – Skooperboxes – For consideration.

RESOLVED: Not to purchase Skooperboxes. Mrs King to present a report to the next meeting regarding biodegradable plastic bags.
13th February Paula King – PROW and Definitive Map Report – For consideration.

RESOLVED: Correspondence noted and Mrs King to contact ERYC Reference Library and the Lords Feoffees for assistance with historical records with regards to the town centre passageways. Mrs King is also requested to investigate the Sustrans Connect 2 project with the Definitive Map Section at ERYC and report back.

14th February Michael Brown – Tree Felling Works Schedule



Correspondence noted.
18th February To report that the ERYC Planning and Development Control Department have not had a response from them with regards to Mr Ashby’s concerns dated 15th January 2008 – Mr Ashby informs of a nil response.

ERYC have since informed the Council that they will be contacting all parties shortly with regards to this concern, and it was resolved to await correspondence.
18th February Colin Hogg – Parish Places – An Introduction to Design in Context – Attendance.

RESOLVED: To note the correspondence and not to send a representative to the seminar.
