Year of birth: 1958

One of the most famous wildlife photographers and cinematographers in Finland. Has received the State’s Prize of Information Publicity (1992) and several prizes from different culture and environmental institutions.


Documentary film about the rare seal of Lake Saimaa has been chosen as the Best Wildlife Film in Europe (Hope of Saimaa 1993).

The Freelance Photographer of the Year (1998).


Has produced and shot over 15 own wildlife documentaries and other documentaries and worked as a cinematographer for several productions by other independent producers. Well-known author,

a book of Lake Saimaa has been ranked as the Best Wildlife Book in Finland.
