Assumptions for the development of the plan of protection tasks

The aim of drafting a plan of protection tasks is to maintain or restore the proper state of subjects of the protection. This obligation stems from Article 6 (1) Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the protection of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora.
The Natura 2000 Dolina Środkowego Bugu PLB060003 site has been designated by the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 5 September 2007 amending the ordinance regarding the areas of special protection of birds Natura 2000. The currently valid legal basis is the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of 12 January 2011 regarding areas of special protection for birds.
Description of the area:
The area is a border line of the Bug river valley between the surroundings of the Gołębie village (Dołhobyczów municipality) and Terespol. The river on this stretch has a natural character, with numerous meanders and oxbow lakes and high cliffs. The valley of the river is occupied by meadows, willow thickets, fields and small patches of riparian forests.
The total surface of the area amounts to 28 096,55 hectares). For the whole Natura 2000 site a draft plan of protection tasks will be developed.

The draft plan of protection tasks for the Site of Community importance - special area of birds protection Natura 2000 will be drawn up taking into account the requirements set out in Article 28 Paragraph 10 Nature Conservation Act and in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of 17 February 2010 on the preparation of the draft plan of protection tasks for the Natura 2000 site.
The assumption for the development of a project draft of protection tasks for the site is to maintain or restore the proper state of the subject of protection, the obligation of which arises from Art. 6 (1) of the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the Conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora.)
Documentation of the draft plan of protection tasks is compiled gradually in electronic form. The materials will be published on the BIP Regional Directorate of Environmental Protection in Lublin http://bip.lublin.rdos.gov.pl.
You can submit comments and proposals, also by means of electronic communication to the address firstname.lastname@example.org without the necessity of including the secure electronic signature referred to in the Act of 18 September 200 concerning the electronic signature.
The Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Lublin will organise discussion meetings with the representatives of the persons and entities conducting activities within the natural habitats and the habitats of species for which the Natura 2000 sites Dolina Środkowego Bugu was established.
The plan of protection tasks for the Natura 2000 area stipulates, by an act of local law, in the form of an ordinance by the Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Lublin, heading resulting from the recording of the statutory need to maintain and restore a proper state of protection of natural habitats and species of plants and animals for which the protection was designated by Natura 2000. The arrangements of a plan of protection tasks can directly influence: forestry administration; local administration bodies and local bodies of government administration; owners and users of agricultural land, forests and water and property owners within the area where subjects of protection of the Natura 2000 site appear, entrepreneurs who conduct activities in the area of Natura 2000 site; entrepreneurs interested in the implementation of undertakings in the Natura 2000 site. Additionally, arrangements of a plan of protection tasks should be transposed into various existing planning documents remaining the responsibility of public authorities, eg .: studies of conditions of directions of spatial development of municipalities, local spatial development plans, forest management plans.
Plan of Protective Tasks for Natura 2000 site Dolina Środkowego Bugu is implemented under the project financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014 "Grasslands bioddiversity conservation in the eastern lubelskie region”, (Nr 520/2014/Wn-03/OP-XN-02/D).
