摘要

食品工業發展研究所生物資源保存及研究中心收藏超過17,000株的微生物資源,包括6,650株細菌、3,220株酵母菌、5,393株絲狀真菌、1,216株菇類、471株質體、260株宿主及與204株噬菌體等。各菌株詳細資訊列於本所生資中心網頁http://strain.bcrc.firdi.org.tw/BSAS/。

生物資源保存及研究中心除致力於微生物資源收集及保存外,並運用多年來累積之微生物分類鑑定核心技術,對本土菌株進行歸群,對於新穎性的微生物進一步利用形態觀察、生理生化試驗、細胞組成化學分析、rDNA定序與DNA雜交等技術,進行系統分類學的研究,於92-97年共發現了一個微生物新屬Chitinibacter及十三個新種,分別為Chitinibacter tainanensisChryseobacterium taiwanenseAmycolatopsis taiwanensisPaenibacillus taiwanensisSporobolomyces fushanensisSporobolomyces diospyrorisSporobolomyces lophatheriSporobolomyces pyrrosiaeBullera begoniaeBullera setariaeBullera melastomaeBullera formosanaSporobolomyces magnisporus,並且分別依據「國際細菌命名法規」及「國際植物命名法規」命名發表,這些新穎性的微生物資源彰顯了台灣微生物資源的多樣性;預期在產業利用方面,新穎性的微生物資源將可提供創新的素材,在智慧財產權的保護之下發展差異化的產品,強化本土產業的競爭優勢。


Abstract


Bioresource Collection and Research Center (BCRC) of Food Industry Research and Development Institute is one of the leading biological resource centers in the world. The total microbials collection reached 17,000 strains as of December 2007, including 6,650 bacteria, 3,220 yeast, 5,393 filamentous fungi, 1,216 mushrooms, 471 vector, 260 host, and 204 phage. Online strain information is provided on BCRC website http://strain.bcrc.firdi.org.tw/BSAS/.

BCRC devoted to systematics, taxonomy and classification of novel microorganism based on morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics, cell wall composition, DNA sequence analysis, and DNA-DNA hybridization. During 2003 to 2008, a novel genus, Chitinibacter, and thirteen novel species isolated form Taiwan were published. Thirteen novel species are Chitinibacter tainanensis, Chryseobacterium taiwanense, Amycolatopsis taiwanensis, Paenibacillus taiwanensis, Sporobolomyces fushanensis, Sporobolomyces diospyroris, Sporobolomyces lophatheri, Sporobolomyces pyrrosiae, Bullera begoniae, Bullera setariae, Bullera melastomae, Bullera formosana, and Sporobolomyces magnisporus.
