Organism to be tested for the developing of phytosanitary treatments under the NIMF Nº 15.

Scope: This annex identified the different groups of pest, with risk to be associated with wood packaging, which must to be tested to the developing of phytosanitary treatments under the NIMF Nº 15.

Organism

Stage

Objective

Examples

1.- Wood Nematode

Including the 3º instar larvae, resistant life stage

To evaluate the effectiveness of a phytosanitary treatment over xylomicophagous wood nematode.

Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

2.- Wood borers

2.1 At least 1 species of Siricidae or Buprestidae

Determinate the effectiveness between larvae, pupa and adult or the more resistant life stage.

To evaluate the effectiveness of a phytosanitary treatment over xylophagous/xylomicetophagous insect associated with fresh wood, which produce similar galleries, closed with chewed and/or fine powder frass.

Sirex spp., Buprestis spp.

2.2 At least 1 species of Cerambycidae

Determinate the effectiveness between larvae, pupa and adult or the more resistant life stage.

To evaluate the effectiveness of a phytosanitary treatment over phloeophagous/xylophagous insects associated with fresh wood, which produce similar galleries with fine-grained frass and short wood fibres.

Anoplophora glabripennis, Monochamus spp., Phoracantha spp.,

Tetropium spp., Rusticoclytus spp., Xylotrechus spp.

3.- Bark beetles

At least 1 species of Scolytidae or Curculionidae.

Determinate the effectiveness between egg, larvae, pupa and adult or the more life stage.

To evaluate the effectiveness of a phytosanitary treatment over phloeophagous insects.

Ips spp., Dendroctunus spp.,, Tomicus spp., Pissodes spp. Hylobius abietis.

4.- Dried wood insects
At leas 1 species of Bostrichidae Anobiidae or Lyctidae

Determinate the effectiveness between egg, larvae, pupa and adult or the more resistant stage.

To evaluate the effectiveness of a phytosanitary treatment over xylophagous insects associated with dried wood, which produce similar galleries, closed with fine powder frass.

Heterobostrychus spp., Sinoxylon spp., Bostrichus spp.

Anobium spp., Lyctus spp.
