Terms and Conditions of Use: Data Supplied Free of Charge
You should read the following terms and conditions carefully before using the enclosed Data. Using these Data or software indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with them, you should promptly return the Data. These Data are protected both by English Copyright Law and International treaty provisions.
Each set of data is accompanied by ‘Notes on data’. These, along with other warnings and notes, must be read prior to the use of the data. Use of the data indicates knowledge and acceptance of these limitations and conditions.
2. National Statistics
A number of datasets produced by Population Estimates Unit are classified as National Statistics. Other data and supporting information including unit data, single year of age data at sub-national level and component data are NOT National Statistics. These are being made available because the Office for National Statistics is obliged to release them under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. These data may not meet the stringent requirements made of National Statistics data and are fit only for certain purposes. 3. Grant of Licence
This Licence agreement (“The Licence”) permits you to use these Data within your own organisation. You have no right to transmit, re-publish or redistribute the Data through any medium or any format or media for commercial gain unless a redistribution licence is in place. Any reproduction of these Data must acknowledge the Office for National Statistics as the Data source.
The copyright, in any format, belongs to the Crown and is protected by English Copyright Law, International treaty provisions and all other applicable national laws. Any reproduction of these Data must carry recognition of Crown Copyright.
5. Other Restrictions
You may not rent or lease the data or publish it for commercial gain. The Data are the property of the Office for National Statistics and this Licence only grants your organisation use of the data (including non-commercial reproduction). This agreement may be terminated at any time at which point the Data must be returned to the Office for National Statistics.
The Office for National Statistics expressly excludes all warranties, expressed or implied including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with respect to defects in the Data and/or software.
In no event shall the Office for National Statistics be liable for any loss of profit and/or any other commercial damage including without limitation special, incidental, consequential or other damages.
7. Governing Law
This Licence is covered by the laws of England and Wales.
8. Copyright licensing
