Job Title: Senior Portfolio Manager

Job Scope


The Business:
KBC Fund Management is a Dublin based asset manager with approximately EUR 45bn assets under management and is a part of the KBC Group of companies. The Global Investment Management team is responsible for the investment and operational management of 43 equity funds with EUR 9bio in AUM.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of equity funds including portfolios managed using quantitative investment techniques. It is expected that the successful candidate will become a specialist in a specific theme or niche market, manage these funds and communicate and present this internally & externally to the KBC network.



Essential Duties


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


  • Day-to-day management of the funds:

    • Creation and implementation of equity models.

    • Managing subscriptions and redemptions.

    • Implementing cash and currency management.

    • Hedging risk using futures.




  • Pro-active contribution to the development of the funds and team through:

    • Identifying and supporting continuous improvements, with a particular focus on performance, risk control and efficiency.

    • Active participation in projects and committees related to the management of the funds.

    • Preparing and delivering presentations and reports on theme/niche and performance of portfolios.

    • Interacting with other teams in KBC Fund Management and KBCAM NV on fund-related matters.

    • Supporting new product creation.




Job Specifications


Skills & Experience required:
The successful candidate will possess a third level qualification in Finance, Economics, Physics or Maths. Some relevant experience in asset management is desirable.
The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following competencies:


  • CFA designation or equivalent desirable.

  • 5 - 8 years relevant experience preferably within a portfolio management environment.

  • IT skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office applications essential. Programming skills such as VBA and Matlab would be desirable.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills are expected.

  • Attention to detail essential.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload in a timely manner.

  • Strong team player as well as the ability to work on own initiative.
