Research Experiences


  1. Enhance germplasm genetic basis by interspecies hybrid. Especially the introgression of super fiber properties from Gossypium wild species. About two hundreds elite lines characterized as superior fiber properties were developed from G. anomalum, G. armourianum, G. raimondii. Among them, elite line 7235 has been used in molecular tagging of fiber quality traits.

2) QTLs mapping for fiber properties cotton nematode resistance : Development a RIL and three F2 intraspecies populations and identification of many stable QTLs for fiber quality and yield traits under different environments; Charactization of a major QTL on Linkage group A03 Mi1-A03 which had a LOD score of 19.21 and accounted for 63.7% of the total phenotypic variation.
