Siemens launches new energy management tools to help cash-strapped businesses identify, quantify and reduce energy spend

97% of UK businesses are worried about the impact of rising energy costs1, with the ability to forecast costs concerning 91% of those surveyed. In response to these trends Siemens has today launched a suite of new energy management tools to help businesses better measure and ultimately bring down their energy costs.

The company launched its latest energy management portfolio at Siemens’ flagship urban development centre, the Crystal, which first opened its doors to the public 12 months ago. Home to the world's largest exhibition focused on sustainability, the Crystal is also a firmly established global thought-leadership hub on sustainable urbanisation. The building itself has achieved the highest certificates for BREEAM outstanding and LEED platinum.
Kevin Tutton, UK Director of Siemens Metering Communications & Services, said:Energy management continues to rise up the agenda, with 85% of businesses saying that it is one of their key considerations and that the need to improve operational efficiency is crucial in the current climate.
“That is why we are working with business customers to improve their energy awareness and conservation. Our technical expertise and national network will allow customers to quickly identify where reductions in electricity, gas and water consumption can be made across their portfolio. Whilst swiftly implementing the appropriate measures and making a return on investment for their organisation.”
Siemens’ new energy management tools are designed to provide businesses with truly intelligent data. Initially data is tracked through the Vestigo energy management dashboard, then a comparison is drawn against similar premises, before conclusions are drawn regarding the most appropriate course of action which can be taken. This end-to-end energy management solution minimises risk and spend for businesses in a climate where only necessary improvements will be approved.
It allows rapid visualisation and presentation of meter data, early identification of savings potential and agnostic product selection bespoke to each building, which ensures that time and money are not wasted. Siemens will support business where and when they need it to help kick-start their energy management journey.
