Terms and Conditions

(Subject to the laws of Australia)

*By submitting bids in this auction the bidder signifies acceptance of the conditions of the auction.

  1. The prices listed are estimates only. You may bid at, above or below the estimate, however low bids are rarely successful. 80% of estimate is the lowest bid acceptable; any bids lower than this amount will automatically be increased to 80% of the estimate.

  1. All estimates are in Australian Dollars.

  1. Please bid only the highest amount you are prepared to pay (Not including P&P or insurance ). As lots are sold at 5% above the second highest bid “sliding” bids are not necessary. All bids must be in whole dollar amounts. Anything less will be rounded up.

  1. Bid sheets will not be accepted if they are not signed by the bidder.

  1. Lots receiving an equal high bid figure by two or more bidders will be sold to the bidder with earliest bid received.

  1. Whilst bids will be taken and instructions will be executed with the utmost care, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions on the bidder’s part. Please check your bid sheet carefully as lots bid on in error cannot be returned for that reason!

  1. I. S. Wright Militaria/ the auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot or refuse any bid as required.

  1. I.S Wright Militaria is not responsible for any errors made if bid sheets are not legible or for incorrect lot numbers. Please ensure you check your bid sheet.

  1. Bid retractions will no longer be accepted for any reason.

  1. Title: The highest bidder will be the buyer and no person may retract any bid. Tendering a bid is a legal offer to buy. At the end of the sale the successful bidder enters into a legally binding contract subject to Australian law and the lot(s) become the sole risk of the buyer or agent, however legal title of a lot(s) will not pass to the buyer until the lot(s) is paid for in full including any other charges associated.

  1. Lots are available for viewing at the above address, providing twenty four hours notice is given. Anyone needing to view lots at any of our other outlets is responsible for insured postage both ways. Photos are available of lots with an estimate price greater than $20. Only one photo per item, more than one photo emailed are $2.00ea. (This charge will be refunded if you are the successful bidder).

  1. Catalogue Descriptions: Whilst I.S.Wright Militaria make every effort to ensure accuracy of their descriptions as well as the authenticity and genuiness of all lots, most lots are of some age and this is reflected when the condition is cited in a description. A difference of opinion as to the condition of any lot is not regarded as reason for the item to be returned and the sale rescinded. I.S Wright Militaria does not accept responsibility for the attribution, condition or quality of lots. If you are unsure of condition , then please ask for a photo to be sent. It is your responsibility to assess the item(s), this includes sizes. Simply that an item does not fit your particular object is no grounds for return. Catalogue illustrations are provided purely for the guidance of prospective buyers and are not to be relied to determine the colour or condition of an item. Estimates and descriptions are made long in advance of the sale and maybe subject to revision. I.S. Wright Militaria have complete discretion as to the manner in which items are described, whether to illustrate any item(s) or to combine lots in illustrations.

  1. Forgeries: Withstanding condition 5 of the return policy, the buyer returns any lot giving notice to I. S. Wright Militaria in writing, that the item (s) is in the same condition in which it was sold. It is I. S. Wright ‘s policy to require the buyer to obtain, at the buyers expense, the written opinion of two recognized experts in the field that are mutually acceptable to the buyer and I. S. Wright Militaria before a decision is made to rescind the sale. This guarantee applies only to the original buyer named on the original invoice and is not valid if the buyer has sold or disposed of the lot(s) to a third or subsequent party at any time. All lots sold after 7 days of receipt of purchase will be deemed as having been examined by the purchaser and as sold with no return.

  1. Viewing of items is highly recommended, either at our Ballarat office or by email. Viewing/inspection of Third Reich German items is strongly recommended. German items sold in the sale will be deemed as having been viewed by the winning bidder and no returns will be accepted. We are like any other auction. Sold Means “Sold”!!!!

  1. Electrical and Mechanical items: All such items which include such parts are sold as historical items only and are not recommended for use.

  1. At no time prior to the closing date of the sale will the progression of bids be available. Final results of the sale will be available after one full week from the closing date, please do not enquire prior to this as this prolongs the finalization.

  1. Agents bidding on behalf of clients are responsible both for payment and safe delivery of purchases.

  1. Customers wishing to use MasterCard or Visa will be subject to a 2% inc GST merchant fee and must supply the card number, expiry date and authorization with their bids or upon receiving an invoice by postage/Email .
