ESSA is a union of secondary school students in England: its aim is to provide services and representation to secondary school students as the National Union of Students does for University students.
It was launched at the TUC in London on the 4th of February, with the support of the Trades Unions Congress, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, the Times Educational Supplement, and several other organisations relating to education and children’s rights.
All secondary school students in England now have the opportunity to sign up for ESSA membership, free, at its website www.studentvoice.co.uk
ESSA members can stand for election to ESSA’s Council, and vote for their regional representatives on the Council. Becoming an ESSA member is free, easy and instant, and immediately entitles you to a vote, and a say in the future of the organisation.
