Act 69 (Importation of Dangerous Animals)


  1. Dangerous animals which could easily kill or seriously injure humans are hereby banned in the Empire of Austenasia.

  2. From now on, no dangerous animal (as listed in Law 6 of this same Act) will be allowed over the border of Austenasia. Any person trying to enter Austenasia with a dangerous animal will be denied entry.

  3. Residents of Austenasia have until 25th April 2009 to either free in a responsible manner (that is, in it’s natural habitat and away from humans) or to destroy any dangerous animals.

  4. Dangerous animals may be owned if granted a licence by the Representative of that town if he/she so deems that the ownership of said dangerous animal is for a suitable reason (not just for a pet), and is kept in humane and secure conditions as to absolutely minimise any chances of it harming anyone.

  5. Starting from the 25th April 2009, any person in Austenasia found with an unlicensed dangerous animal will be arrested for breaking the law, and the animal will be either released into it’s natural habitat in such away to minimise the risks to humans or destroyed, at the decision of the Police Inspector of that town.

  6. The following are hereby classified as dangerous animals:

    1. Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii)

    2. Jackal (Canis aureus/adustus/mesomelas)

    3. Ethiopian Wolf (Canis simensis)

    4. African Wild Dog (Lycaon pictus)

    5. Dhole/Indian Wild Dog (Cuon alpinus)

    6. Wolf (Canis lupus) except for the domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris)

    7. Coyote (Canis latrans)

    8. Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)

    9. Jaguar (Panthera onca)

    10. Lion (Panthera leo)

    11. Lynx (Lynx lynx/canadensis/pardinus/rufus)

    12. Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis)

    13. Puma/Cougar and Jaguarundi (Puma concolor/yagouaroundi)

    14. Serval (Leptailurus serval)

    15. Tiger (Panthera tigris)

    16. Hyena (Hyaenidae) except the aardwolf (Proteles cristata)

    17. Wolverine (Gulo gulo)

    18. Ratel/Honey Badger (Mellivora capensis)

    19. Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus)

    20. Sloth Bear (Melursus ursinus)

    21. American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)

    22. Brown Bear (Ursus arctos)

    23. Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus)

    24. Asiatic Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus a.k.a Selenarctos thibetanus)

    25. Spectacled/Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus)

    26. Walrus (Odobenus rosmarus)

    27. Elephant (Loxodonta africana/cyclotis and elephas maximus)

    28. Rhinocerous (Rhinoceros sondaicus/unicornis, Ceratotherium simum, Diceros bicornis and Dicerorhinus sumatrensis)

    29. Tapir (Tapirus bairdii/indicus/pinchaque/terrestris)

    30. African Buffalo (Syncerus caffer)

    31. Moose/elk (Alces alces)

    32. Wild boar (Sus scrofa)

    33. Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus)

    34. Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius/unappendiculatus/bennetti)

    35. Ostrich (Struthio camelus)

    36. Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis/sinensis)

    37. Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus/cataphractus/intermedius/johnsoni/mindorensis/moreletii/ niloticus/novaeguinae/palustris/porosus/rhombifer/siamensis and Osteolaemus tetraspis)

    38. Caiman (Paleosuchus palpebrosus/trigonatus, Caiman yacare/crocodilus/latirostris and Melanosuchus niger)

    39. False gharial (Tomistoma schlegelii)

    40. The snake families of Atractaspididae, Colubridae, Elapidae and Viperidae.

    41. Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum)

    42. Beaded lizard (Heloderma horridum)

    43. Brazilian wolf spider (Lycosa raptoria)

    44. The spider families of Ctenidae, Dipluroidea and Sicariidae, and the genus of Latrodectus in the family Theridiidae - that is, wandering spiders, Sydney funnel-web spider, brown recluse spiders, black widows and their close relatives.

    45. All scorpions in the family of Buthidae.

    46. Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis)

    47. Common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes)

    48. Python (all snakes in the family of Pythonidae)

    49. Leopard Seal (Hydrurga leptonyx)

    50. Amazonian giant centipede (Scolopendra gigantea)

    51. Poison dart frog (all frogs in the family of Dendrobatidae)

    52. Any hybrid where one parent is, or both parents are, listed in this law as being dangerous animals.
