Mission Statement

Converse High School recognizes the need to have technology as a part of their learning process. By integrating technology, our students will become skilled, knowledgeable, independent, and self-directed learners. This will allow teachers to become facilitators of learning, which will enable students to enhance their ability to use critical thinking and higher order thinking skills thus making them life long learners.


Goal
Converse High School plans to provide school wide instructional technology to help attain a school performance score of 100 in ten years. Teachers will continue to collaborate with each other as well as attend in-service training to enhance their ability to incorporate the use of technology in their classrooms. Converse High School hopes to have 100% of their faculty attain the Sabine Parish Technology Proficiency Standards.

Beliefs
Converse High School believes that every student should have the opportunity to gain standards based technological knowledge and skills in order to make them more productive citizens and be able to compete in the global economy. Teachers have the responsibility to integrate technology in the learning process.
Objectives

Converse High School plans to follow the following three objectives. Time lines, responsible parties, funding, and evaluations are indicated for each of the three objectives. These objectives will help Converse High School obtain their stated goals.



Objective 1: Technology environment conducive to learning

Converse High School will continue to purchase state of the art equipment and software which will be used to provide an environment conducive to learning.

Objective 2: Enhance student education through the use of technology
Technology, at every available opportunity, will be incorporated into the curriculum to increase student learning. Students will be provided the opportunity to access needed information to enhance their assignments, which will also impact learning.

Technology Plan Evaluation
To determine the effectiveness of the Converse High School Technology Plan implementation, the Technology Support Team will do both formative and summative evaluations. The principal and/or school technology coordinator will keep necessary documentation. The Technology Support Team will continually be in contact with the local faculty and the Sabine Parish School Board Personnel to ensure that the technology needs of Converse High School are being met.
